You can’t stop the waves, but you can learn how to surf.”

-Jon Kabat-Zinn

Waves are powerful, magnificent, and beautiful. They have the power to wash away all the debris, to cleanse, to calm, to reset.

They can also hit you unexpectedly, knock you off your feet, and make you feel like you you are fighting just to breathe.

In Hawaii, where I have found much of my peace over the years, wave is translated as nalu.

Life isn’t always easy, but as Ben Platt sings, “Tough times don’t last; tough people do.” At Nalu Psychology, I work with clients to equip them with the tools they need to get through the tough times, to heal, grow, and thrive.

Chelsea Chomos (She/Her)

Chelsea is a Registered Psychologist with the Saskatchewan College of Psychologists. She uses empirically supported therapy practices, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and a solution-focused approach, to work with children, teens, and adults in a variety of capacities.

Her training and experience is vast and includes counselling support for individuals with anxiety, depression, self-harm and suicidal risk behaviours, emotional regulation, grief, relational conflict and bullying, and behaviour challenges. Chelsea also has impassioned experience working with individuals that have autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, oppositional defiance disorder, and learning disorders. She is an ally to LGBTQ2S+ and has long been committed to Truth and Reconciliation.

Through her assessment practice, she investigates learning and behaviour challenges through various assessment tools. Psychological assessments offer a new way to understand yourself or your child, allowing you to build on strengths and understand how to support difficulties. Chelsea holds Authorized Practice Endorsement (APE), which means she has been approved by the College to diagnose.

Through her educational psychology practice, Chelsea works with students who are struggling in school academically, behaviourally, or socially. Prior to becoming a psychologist, she worked in Education for almost two decades. Her time as a classroom teacher, Learning Resource Teacher and school counsellor gave her invaluable experience that she brings to her current practice. As needed, Chelsea will work directly with your child’s education team to ensure that support and assessment is extended beyond the walls of her office.
